Job DescriptionSalary: $24 per hourWe have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Peer to join our team at our residential substance abuse treatment center. As a Residential Peer, you will play a vital role in helping clients with daily living needs, such as personal hygiene, minor medical requirements, housekeeping, and other tasks as needed.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong interest in behavioral health and be able to work with minimal supervision while prioritizing client needs. You will also need to share your lived experience with clients and model a healthy lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with daily personal routines, including hygiene and medical care.
- Provide companionship and establish trusting relationships with residents.
- Ensure residents take their prescribed medication as directed.
- Report any concerns or medical issues promptly.
- Maintain safe and organized living quarters for residents.
- Keep accurate records of resident activity, behavior, and moods.
- Lead group activities and outings, promoting socialization and engagement.
- Perform reasonable requests from residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Collaborate with management and coworkers to deliver exceptional care and support to residents.
Requirements and Qualifications:- CPR/Basic First Aid training within 30 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Lived experience in addiction recovery with at least 12 months of continuous sobriety prior to hire.
- Active involvement in personal recovery, practicing self-care, health, and overall well-being.
- Valid Alaska driver's license and commercial automobile insurance qualification.
- First aid and CPR training preferred.
- Positive attitude, emotional intelligence, and strong listening skills.
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug screens.
