Seeking a Dedicated Surgical Technologist

The Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a skilled Surgical Technologist to join the OR team in a full-time, evening shift schedule. The Operating Room consists of 11 rooms providing a wide range of surgical services, including breast, cancer, colorectal, cosmetic, general, gynecologic, head and neck, joint replacements, melanoma, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, oral surgery, and urology.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
  • Expedite the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
  • Keep the circulating nurse informed of upcoming patient care needs.
  • Demonstrate collaboration with other team members in planning/giving patient care.
  • Serve as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • 1-year experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Surgical Technologist registration required.
  • Must be eligible for Surgical Technologist registration via the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire.
  • BLS via AHA required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT.
