Extra-Help Groundskeeper

The Maintenance Worker I/II role is an exciting opportunity to join Mariposa County's team. As an Extra-Help employee, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work on buildings, grounds, and facilities. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one to two years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or grounds maintenance. The estimated salary for this position is $20.53 - $27.30 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a valid California driver's license and be able to work irregular hours as necessary.

In this role, you will be working closely with our team to ensure that our buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe and functional. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment used in buildings, grounds, and facilities maintenance, operating a variety of light or medium-size automotive equipment such as trucks and loaders, and performing custodial duties. You will also be responsible for maintaining airport runways and public parking lots, operating snow removal equipment, backhoes, and other power-driven equipment, and performing maintenance of equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The selection process may include a competitive evaluation of the training and experience described on your application, a written examination, a structured oral interview, a performance rating, or a combination of any of these.
