Job Overview

Restaurant Facilities Technician

This role is essential for ensuring the operational efficiency of restaurant facilities. The technician will handle routine HVAC-refrigeration tasks, perform building repairs, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and manage plumbing responsibilities to maintain optimal functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct repairs on various kitchen equipment, including fryers, grills, steamers, ovens, microwaves, hoods, and water heaters.
  • Maintain effective communication and demonstrate the ability to work independently while following established guidelines.
  • Adapt to challenges and solve problems promptly and efficiently.
  • Adhere to a structured schedule while managing interruptions effectively.
  • Exhibit self-discipline, organization, and responsiveness, taking initiative to address routine issues as they arise.
  • Perform inventory management for parts and supplies.
  • Engage in special projects related to remodeling and refrigeration within restaurant facilities, assisting with corporate initiatives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in restaurant kitchen equipment repair and maintenance, with a focus on preventative maintenance programs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Certification and skills in general maintenance, HVAC-refrigeration (level 2), electrical, plumbing, and welding are advantageous.

Additional Information

  • Possess strong technical troubleshooting skills and own necessary tools.
  • Willingness to travel with minimal scheduling restrictions, including potential overnight stays.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including in fast-paced and noisy environments.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and walk on roofs as required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check is mandatory.
