Position Overview

The role of the Travel CVOR Technologist is crucial in providing exceptional surgical care within our facilities. This position requires a dedicated professional with a robust background in cardiac and thoracic procedures.

Certification Requirements
  • Certifications: Must possess certifications in Total Joint, Heart Center, Level 2 Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiac Center recognition.
Key Responsibilities

The technologist will be involved in various surgical procedures, including:

  • Main OR: General, trauma, orthopedic (both trauma and elective joints/sports medicine), urology, gynecology, robotic surgeries, plastics, and complex neuro services.
  • CVOR: Engaging in complex thoracic surgeries, including AAA repairs, valve replacements, and CABG, as well as complex open and endovascular cases involving bypass, angioplasty, and stenting.
Job Expectations
  • The traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policies, with expectations to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, with a strong emphasis on cardiac experience.
  • Requested skill set includes circulating RN capabilities in General OR, covering areas such as orthopedic, neuro, plastics, vascular, trauma, and robotic surgeries.
Job Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general circulating duties, including patient positioning, preparation, and facilitation of surgical cases.
  • In CVOR, the ability to manage positioning, preparation, and operation of endovascular equipment for complex thoracic and vascular surgeries is essential.
Scheduling Information

Scheduling will include:

  • CVOR: 8-10 call shifts (12 hours) Monday through Friday, with 24-hour shifts on weekends for 4 weeks.
  • Main OR: 3 call shifts (12 hours) every 4 weeks, with availability for both day and night shifts.
Unit Specifics
  • Unit Details: 13 beds in the main OR and 2 in CVOR.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1.
  • Staffing: 1 RN and 1 CST per room, with turnover staff, 1 charge RN, and 4:1 anesthesia coverage. In-house night shift support.
  • Equipment: Utilization of advanced technologies including XI Robot, Mako joint robot, and advanced spine equipment.
  • Documentation: Meditech system for record-keeping.
  • Floating Policy: No floating required.
