Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Preop/PACU Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our ambulatory surgery center, you will ensure safe and effective nursing care for patients postoperatively until they are discharged from the facility.
Responsibilities- Prepare patient care areas, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
- Monitor patients according to policy, including vital signs, temperature, and cardiac function.
- Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
- Perform and document head-to-toe evaluations of patients using an approved scoring system.
- Check dressings and operative sites, reporting abnormalities to the surgeon.
- Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families.
- Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing.
- 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Preop, PACU, ER, ICU, or Surgery.
- Active RN license as required by state of employment.
- BCLS Certification upon employment.
- ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
- PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.
