This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. The successful candidate will function independently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Completion of a Physician Assistant Program
- Current California Physician Assistant license
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
- Furnishing number, State of California (w/in 1 year of employment)
- DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (within 1 year of employment)
- Medicare Billing number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) (Must obtain within 6 months of employment)
- Physician Assistant, National Commission (w/in 1 year of employment)
- Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
- Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
- Master's Degree
- Two years of clinical nursing experience with emphasis in specialty area
- Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant
- Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
- Bilingual
The expected hiring range for this position is $58.38 to $80.27. Children's Specialists of San Diego is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
