Position Overview
The Infusion Nurse II is a licensed registered nurse responsible for coordinating and delivering intermediate patient care in home settings or alternate infusion suites. This role ensures patient safety and compliance with the physician's care plan while operating under structured supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement intermediate nursing care plans, assessing patient progress and adjusting treatments as necessary.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patient needs and physical conditions during each visit, reassessing as required.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior infusion nurses to uphold patient safety and compliance.
- Deliver effective patient education, empowering patients and families to manage their care independently.
- Maintain clear communication with clinical teams, medical providers, and families to ensure continuity of care.
- Prepare and submit clinical documentation promptly to support billing processes.
- Organize discharge planning and generate comprehensive discharge summaries.
- Adhere to agency operations, policies, and professional standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Utilize technology to enhance work efficiency and validate treatment plans.
- Respond to patient requests and initiate emergency protocols when necessary.
- Uphold ethical and legal standards in patient confidentiality and care.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain professional licensure and competency.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide training to new nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- 1-2 years of experience in infusion nursing.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical activities, including walking, standing, and reaching. Safety protocols must be followed to minimize exposure to potentially infectious materials.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.
