Position Overview
TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced ECMO Specialist Lead Nurse to join our esteemed team. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence patient care and enhance the nursing practice within our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the operations associated with ECMO therapy.
- Collaborate effectively with CVICU and MSICU Managers, ECMO Coordinators, and cardiovascular specialists.
- Serve as an educator and mentor for nursing staff engaged in ECMO procedures.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and staff development activities.
- Maintain and organize ECMO supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care.
Essential Duties
- Exemplify the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.
- Develop and implement orientation pathways for new ECMO Specialists.
- Oversee the preceptorship and competency documentation for ECMO staff.
- Conduct regular rounds on ECMO patients to uphold care standards and mentor team members.
- Facilitate daily huddles with the perfusion team to assess and adjust patient care plans.
- Provide individualized education to patients and their families throughout the care continuum.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in Tennessee or a compact state.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CVICU with proficiency in mechanical cardiovascular support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
