Maintenance Team Manager Job Description

Avery Dennison Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Team Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and performance of routine, planned, and emergency maintenance repair activities on the night shift.

This is a third shift role, Monday through Friday, 10 PM to 6 AM. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team to achieve safety and efficiency goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and assign work for maintenance team members using the MP2 CMMS system.
  • Conduct performance reviews and create development plans for team members.
  • Promote personal development and identify training needs for team members.
  • Audit team members to ensure adherence to safety practices, standard operating procedures, and training instructions.
  • Lead efforts to identify root causes and preventative actions for safety and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with operations team managers and area managers to maintain consistent expectations on the night shift.
  • Support 5-S, housekeeping, ELS projects, and recycling programs.
  • Assign responsibilities and ensure teamwork to maximize safety and efficiency during restore flow efforts.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in maintenance management or supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to and enforce safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Problem-solving capability and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and dependability to support production and customer focus.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • 3+ years of maintenance supervision and/or management experience.
  • Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project management and time management skills.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing processes.
