Job Summary

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electric Construction and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in West Allis, Wisconsin. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing field personnel engaged in the operation, maintenance, and construction of electric substations and ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement goals and objectives for the Maintenance and/or Construction group, ensuring alignment with company objectives and priorities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned personnel, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Identify training needs and develop training plans to enhance the skills and knowledge of assigned personnel.
  • Perform administrative functions, including time sheet approval, coaching, counseling, and administering discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, We Energies Protective Card Procedures, Safety Rules, and Programs, conducting safety meetings, field safety audits, and accident investigations.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.
  • Prepare labor hour estimates for construction projects, assisting in budgeting and project approval processes.
  • Investigate and follow-up on system significant events, providing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
  • 5 years' experience in electric design, construction, and maintenance or 3 years supervisory experience in a related operations environment.
  • Good working knowledge of union contracts and employee relationship building.
  • Sound understanding of the theory, maintenance, and operation of power transformers, load tap changers, instrument transformers, circuit breakers, protection relaying, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated competence in the electric substation field, including a broad understanding of the electric utility industry and NERC regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electric Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
