Our team is responsible for 50+ staff-years of technical and domain-specific work focused on the Enterprise Network, Systems, Services, and Sustainment. We're seeking a talented and motivated early career Data Analyst to join our team and support military tactical operations and military intelligence.

As a Data Science Analyst, Associate, you'll engage with sponsors to scope and prioritize tasks, collect large datasets to perform data-driven analyses, conduct market research, investigate relevant policies and regulations, and understand the current budgetary and political environment. You'll also perform additional research and analysis as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying sources of information and gathering a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data to support decisions that have implications for MITRE and its government sponsors
  • Apply analysis skills, including exploratory data analysis, time series analysis, and linear regression
  • Leverage other analysis to include, but not limited to, mathematical modeling and analysis, capability benefit analysis, handling large datasets and data-driven analysis, policy and investment analysis, sponsor engagement and support, technical analysis in support of regulatory policy, pre- and post-implementation analysis, forecasting, and applied research
  • Draw conclusions from analyses and clearly and concisely articulate key findings in both written and verbal form
  • Assist in developing data visualization products that improve the presentation of complex data sets
  • Translate unstructured data and non-traditional sources of information into decision insights
  • Explore sponsor environments for cross-government challenges and identify potential best practices

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or other engineering or quantitative analysis field
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, and other business intelligence tools for analysis such as Excel, Power BI with the ability to support business analytics with data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical depth with demonstrated skills and experience in presenting analytical results both verbally and in writing
  • Investment modeling and analysis, cost benefit analysis, experience in handling large datasets for data-driven analysis, policy and investment analysis, and economic analysis in support of regulatory policy, pre- and post-implementation analysis, forecasting, and applied research
  • Active Secret level security clearance
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or other engineering field
  • Experience with decision modeling and analysis
  • Experience with developing analyses and recommendations based on large data sets
  • Expertise in using specific tools data science tools/languages such as R, Tableau, Python Spark, and Qlik
