Job Title: MRI Technologist

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images using MRI technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Review patient charts and physician orders to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathology.
  • Select the proper imaging coil for the study.
  • Perform imaging studies using proper scanning techniques and protocols.
  • Work with physicians to optimize MRI sequences to produce the highest quality MRI image.
  • Administer contrast media following MRI department protocols.
  • Verify pregnancy status, when appropriate.
  • Obtain MRI consent documentation, when necessary.
  • Determine whether the patient has been appropriately prepared for the procedure.
  • Document diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Perform post-processing techniques to optimize imaging or study.
  • Draw up sterile contrast media and other solutions following hospital-approved infection control guidelines.
  • Administer emergency care, including performing CPR.
  • Perform MRI safety screens to identify contraindications, such as foreign bodies or medical indications.
  • Be responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Work overtime as needed to provide continuous quality patient care.
  • Participate in on-call assignments, as needed, according to individual hospital and departmental policies.
  • Perform daily clerical duties, including the use of EMR, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital.
  • Greet all patients when they arrive for their exam, utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
  • Adhere to the policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
  • Be responsible at all times for maintaining MRI safety zones.
  • Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs, including age, culture, language, hearing, and/or visually impaired, etc.
  • Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications:
  • Compliant with ARRT or ARMRIT MRI educational and clinical requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Tech.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Working Conditions:

Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
