Cardiovascular Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting physicians during cardiovascular procedures.

• Provide professional, highly technical nursing care to all cardiovascular patients
• Assist physicians during all cardiovascular procedures, including catheterization and imaging
• Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures
• Participate in in-services, continuing education, and workshops to remain abreast of new procedures and current technologies
• Accountable for the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the lab
• Provide a secure and safe environment for patients and staff, maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards
• Assist with new staff orientation within the department
• Act as a role model within the department, serving as a resource person for all clinical activities
• Assist in the development of new operating procedures

• Typically requires 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in PTCA, EPS preferred
• AAS in RTR, or RTN license, or a minimum of 5 years of experience as RTR or RTN
• Minimum of 12 CEU hours per year
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to anticipate patient and unit needs
• Ability to teach procedures to staff
• Current License in the state of IL as a RTR, RTN, RCVT, or Paramedic (EMT-P)
• ACLS, IABP, RCIS within two years of employment
