What you'll do:

  • You'll participate in an innovative climbing skills training program to enhance your skills and safety.
  • You'll perform line clearing and tree trimming duties for our utility customers, including pruning trees and limbs, trimming or removal of trees, and removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, etc.
  • You'll climb trees for manual trimming and removals in and above the power lines.
  • You'll prepare, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
  • You'll remove limbs and brush, clean up, and dispose of debris.
  • You'll mix and apply spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation.
  • You'll safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the working area and help enforce on-the-job safety practices.

What you'll need:

  • You'll need to perform physical labor, lifting a minimum of 50 lbs to shoulder height or more.
  • You'll need to be capable of operating two-handed equipment and have the physical ability to endure extreme climate variances.
  • You'll need to be willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications, such as tree species identification and local, state, and federal licenses.
  • You'll need to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
  • You'll need to pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests.
  • You'll need to obtain a valid Driver's License.
