Role Overview:

Your primary objective is to redefine the landscape of solar financing. You will operate independently, spearheading transactions with minimal oversight.

The solar industry benefits from a complex framework of tax incentives aimed at promoting solar adoption, fostering a green manufacturing sector in the U.S., and addressing climate change challenges.

In collaboration with policy, legal, and tax specialists, you will optimize financing structures to leverage these unique tax incentives.

Your efforts will broaden our investor network beyond conventional solar loan and lease capital sources, facilitating the introduction of new business ventures for SunPower.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of executing large-scale, intricate, and innovative project finance deals.

You should be an independent and inquisitive thinker, capable of presenting compelling, data-driven arguments, and committed to continuous learning in your field.

Exceptional analytical skills are a must.

This position offers visibility at the executive level, with significant autonomy, scope, and the potential for immediate influence. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with sound judgment, are essential. The role demands high-quality delivery and performance in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and originate solar loan and/or tax equity project financings to support the residential sector.
  • Develop and oversee cross-functional deal teams to ensure efficient execution and seamless post-closing integration.
  • Report on transaction progress, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
  • Create optimal structures to enhance profit margins.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with various potential financing partners.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of project finance experience, including at least 5 years in tax equity.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex transactions involving rating agencies, legal, tax, and accounting professionals.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes to strategy development and innovative solutions.
  • Experience in presenting to and influencing senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or CFA designation.

Our compensation reflects the labor market across various U.S. regions. The base salary for this role ranges from $203,300 to $305,000, depending on geographic location and job-related expertise. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses, short and long-term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
