Secondary Firearms Instructor

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled Secondary Firearms Instructor to provide world-class support to our clientele. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional training services to our clients.

The Secondary Firearms Instructor will assist the Lead Firearms Instructor in the preparation, completion, and post-session clean-up requirements of all Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) Semi-annual Firearms Requalification sessions. This role requires a strong background in firearms training, defensive tactics, and law enforcement procedures.

• Assist the Lead Firearms Instructor in the preparation and execution of FFDO Requalification Training sessions.
• Ensure student safety during dry-fire and live-fire training venues.
• Provide one-on-one instruction to students during the pre-qualification (warm-up) course of fire and any remedial training as designated by the Lead Firearms Instructor.
• Interpret, apply, and adhere to established program policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and lesson plans.
• Keep all Sensitive Security Information (SSI) and Sensitive Personally Identifying Information (SPII) secured appropriately both during and after a re-qualification session.

• Minimum of 5 years of formal experience as an instructor in law enforcement disciplines, including firearms, defensive tactics, and use of force.
• Current or former certified law enforcement official or civilian employee with completed military, state, county, or municipally certified firearms training program.
• Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work/military experience.
