The BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) initiative enhances the shopping experience for our clientele by leveraging inventory across all retail locations. The BOSS Fulfillment Outfitter plays a crucial role in this process, ensuring that orders are filled accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities include sorting, picking, packing, and preparing merchandise for shipment to both direct customers and retail outlets, while maintaining the quality and presentation of products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Execute various tasks within the back room of the retail establishment, including receiving and inspecting merchandise, fulfilling orders, and packing items appropriately for shipment.
  • Organize merchandise into order groupings and package items using suitable containers, ensuring proper labeling and visual inspection for quality assurance.
  • Process retail and direct customer orders by verifying merchandise and matching it to the respective orders, pulling items from designated stock locations.
  • Transport merchandise between warehouse locations using authorized material handling equipment or manually load and unload trailers as necessary.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the workplace.
  • Participate in all required training sessions, including orientation and safety training.
  • Assist customers on the sales floor by helping them locate merchandise and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Report any issues or needs that may impact job performance, such as inventory discrepancies or supply shortages.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High school diploma
  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to effectively manage order processing and ensure accurate closure of orders in the BOSS system.
  • Capacity to build and maintain positive working relationships with management, colleagues, and customers.
  • Proficiency in reading label descriptions and organizing merchandise by UPC codes.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Proficient in operating receiving equipment.
  • Regularly stand and/or walk during shifts.
  • Frequently perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Occasionally communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Occasionally operate machinery and power tools.
  • Occasionally work in confined spaces.
  • Occasionally work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
  • Light work involving constant movement and lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier items using team assistance.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Perform tasks under general supervision, following established procedures while exercising innovation. Make decisions from limited alternatives to resolve issues and recommend improvements to work procedures and practices.
