Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with direct patient care needs, including activities of daily living and patient data collection.
- Contribute to a safe and compassionate patient care environment by fostering a healing environment and promoting patient safety.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families, and respond to their needs in a timely and respectful manner.
- Participate in hourly rounding and patient care rounds to anticipate and meet patient needs.
- Document patient care and vital signs accurately and thoroughly.
- Follow infection prevention practices and safe patient handling guidelines to maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of the literacy exam with a score of 80% or better (PCA Training Program candidates only).
- CPR training required.
- Knowledge of English language sufficient to read, speak, and write accurately.
- Ability to lift and transport patients using the appropriate physical technique in a safe manner for the patient and self, according to Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant preferred.
- Experience as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a formal nursing program.
This is a part-time position working 32 hours per week. The schedule is day shift.
