Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Lead Teller - Branch Coordinator at North Shore Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the fixed activities of the Branch, performing office and administrative duties, resolving problems, and actively cross-selling bank products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations:
    • Coordinate with the Branch Manager to disseminate operational changes and updates to branch personnel through staff meetings.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly handling all teller functions and ensuring adherence to North Shore Bank's customer service standards.
    • Answer questions from prospects and customers, and maintain good customer relations by directing them to the appropriate employees for more complex problems and inquiries.
    • Handle complex and non-routine inquiries by tellers and customers concerning bank policy and operating procedures, and research and solve customer problems, referring more difficult situations to the manager.
    • Ensure that standard operating procedures and security procedures are being followed, and provide guidance and training to branch personnel on operating problems, exceptions, and adjustments.
    • Ensure that bank assets, both monetary and non-monetary, are safeguarded by adhering to all established policies and procedures.
    • Initiate equipment service calls, and assist with proper records maintenance.
    • Open and close the branch, and ensure proper scheduling of staff.
    • Display good business judgment when waiving fees within established bank guidelines.
    • Provide performance feedback to the branch manager regarding teller staff.
  • Sales:
    • Identify cross-sell opportunities, and make appropriate referrals and cross-sells on a consistent basis.
    • Make telephone sales calls, and act as a Personal Banker as needed.
    • Sell new or additional products and services that meet customers' needs in a prompt and courteous manner through the new accounts desk, in-aisle solicitation, telemarketing, trade shows, community events, and other techniques as appropriate.
    • Keep current with products, services, promotions, policies, and procedures.
    • Meet or exceed minimum personal referral goals, and help tellers be accountable for results to meet branch goals.
    • Assist with daily sales support as required, and prepare and implement monthly sales plans.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year bank-related operational support experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service abilities, and knowledge of financial concepts.
  • Previous Teller experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities

The position requires an individual with effective verbal and written communication skills, including listening skills. The individual will need to function within an environment of potential distractions and interruptions, which require an ability to remain focused and manage priorities and details. Ability to direct the work of others and provide constructive feedback is essential.
