Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Mercy Pediatric Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring seamless interactions between patients, providers, and staff.

About the Role
This is a PRN, Day Shift position that requires flexibility and adaptability. You will work closely with our healthcare professionals to prepare patients for visits, administer vaccinations and injections, conduct routine tests, and coordinate follow-up appointments. Your exceptional communication skills and empathy will enable you to build strong relationships with patients and families, addressing their concerns and needs effectively.

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for visits by completing advanced standard room process, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and conducting thorough medication reconciliation.
- Assist with in-office testing, such as drawing blood, performing mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing.
- Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of practice.
- Schedule follow-up appointments according to office policy and collaborate with providers to monitor and coordinate delivery of care plans.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) preferred.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Prior clinical healthcare experience, preferably in primary care, is beneficial.
