The Manager of Regional Pharmacy Services is responsible for overseeing and directing a centralized pharmacy department. This role entails managing a complex operation that spans an entire region or sub-region, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational efficiency. The manager will ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures. The position involves evaluating, planning, and implementing innovative strategies to meet the service and financial objectives of the pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to Pharmacy Managers and staff across assigned locations, which may include central and hybrid remote teams.
- Oversee pharmacy services, including business expansion, performance metrics, quality assurance, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Accountable for the quality and fiscal performance of pharmacy operations, implementing systems and processes to drive improvements.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for resource optimization to support regional pharmacy goals.
- Manage personnel activities, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for pharmacy staff.
- Foster collaborative relationships with leadership across the organization to align pharmacy services with broader business objectives.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance standards and processes to ensure excellence in service delivery.
- Direct the maintenance and operation of departmental equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Communicate effectively with subordinate managers to ensure alignment and support.
- Develop a professional team focused on achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Lead the budgeting process for pharmacy operations, integrating it with organizational financial plans.
- Ensure the consistent application of best practices across pharmacy locations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and department heads to implement strategic programs.
- Develop and provide guidance on departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting.
- A minimum of three (3) years of management experience within an integrated healthcare delivery system.
Education:
- Pharmacy degree is required.
Licensure:
- Must hold a valid Pharmacist License in California.
Additional Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams across multiple pharmacy locations.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of outpatient pharmacy operations and relevant regulations.
- Experience in pharmacy business management and customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm. D. degree is preferred.
- Completion of coursework in pharmacy business management is advantageous.
