Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and accomplished individual to join our team as a Full-Time Assistant Professor in Linguistic Anthropology at the University of California, San Diego. The successful candidate will have a strong research program, excellent teaching and mentoring skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct innovative and rigorous research in Linguistic Anthropology, publishing actively in top-tier journals and books.
  • Teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, developing and teaching courses in Linguistic Anthropology and related fields.
  • Participate in departmental service, contributing to the development of academic programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Linguistic Anthropology or a closely related field.
  • Strong grounding in ethnographic methods and anthropological theories.
  • Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with experience in developing and teaching courses in Linguistic Anthropology and related fields.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
