Job Title: Software Developer in Test

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our team in support of a large Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) nationwide program.

Salary: $93,725 - $114,650

Responsibilities

As a Software Developer in Test, you will be responsible for:

  1. Electing or identifying areas/test cases for Automation
  2. Designing & Implementing Test Automation Strategy
  3. Creating Automation Test Plan and getting approvals
  4. Choose selenium tools and configure Selenium Test Environment (Ex: Eclipse IDE, Java, Selenium WebDriver and TestNG etc...)
  5. Create, organize, and managing Test Automation Resources
  6. Design, develop, and execute automated tests
  7. Extension of existing test automation frameworks and tools
  8. Integrating with CI/CD tools and pipeline (i.e. Jenkins)
  9. Triage, troubleshoot and document defects
  10. Document QA procedures for team
  11. Work closely with engineering and QA to manage and improve the development pipeline
  12. Perform and write automated functional, system, regression, and integration testing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to overall company success.
  3. Must have experience working in an agile environment.
  4. Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.
  5. Must have experience developing test plans and test procedures.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EDI and financial transaction systems helpful but not mandatory.

Experience testing MUMPS, VistA and other VA systems helpful but not mandatory

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)

Citizenship Requirement U.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunity
