Job Summary

Otto Environmental Systems is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Delivery Assistant to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for assisting delivery drivers, operating 16' box trucks, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist delivery drivers with making deliveries and ensuring timely arrival of packages.
  • Operate 16' box trucks safely and efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including trucks, to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements or efficiencies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience driving box trucks on NYC streets.
  • Proven experience with GPS and delivery software.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate machinery in a controlled, precise manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed to support delivery demands.
  • Ability to work 6 days a week and 10-hour days.
  • Must obtain a medical card from a doctor (DOT requirement).
