We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc. as an Equipment Repair Specialist.
About the Role:This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated and experienced diesel mechanic to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex heavy-duty equipment, including tractors and trailers. The successful candidate will have a strong emphasis on safety and compliance, ensuring proper documentation and maintaining a clean work environment.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanics or reefer mechanics, with knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations. Certification in diesel and reefer mechanics is also highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems with diesel equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards
- Complete accurate documentation of all repair orders and parts accountability
- Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations
- At least three years of verifiable hands-on experience in heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanics or reefer mechanics
- Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification
- Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
- Able to read and communicate in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The estimated salary for this role is $28-$33 per hour, depending on experience. This position also offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
