Compensation and Benefits

Job Description

As a Clinical Oncology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality patient care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • You will assess patient needs, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to diagnose and treat patients with cancer.
  • You will also educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote optimal outcomes.

In addition to direct patient care, you will contribute to the development of policies and procedures, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with the latest advances in medical oncology.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited physician assistant program or a Master's degree in nursing with a focus on nurse practitioner training.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • At least three years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting, preferably in oncology.
  • Possession of strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
