Clinical Nurse Leader

The Clinical Leader plays a vital role in providing operational support to the nursing unit, embodying the Upstate mission, vision, and values while adhering to Upstate policies and procedures. This position requires consistent day-to-day leadership and clinical expertise to drive customer service, quality, and the Patient Experience. The Clinical Leader participates in the Clinical Advancement Program and is an active member of the unit leadership team.
About the UnitThe Biobehavioral Health Unit (BBHU) is an 11-bed inpatient unit located in the Hutchings Building 7, 3rd floor. This unit provides behavioral and mental health care and one-to-one assisted living care to individuals 5-17 years of age with multiple mental and behavioral health diagnoses who also display severe challenging behavior. The unit operates a bio-behavioral model using multi-disciplinary assessments, functional analysis, defining and tracking of target behaviors, individualized treatment of target behavior, caregiver training, and relevant psychiatric/educational needs, among other ancillary services.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the behavioral team to improve the lives of patients and families
- Use nursing skills and knowledge to drive quality and customer service
- Participate in the Clinical Advancement Program and contribute to unit leadership
- Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State
- Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience in an acute care specialty area
Full-time (40 hours per week), Day/Eve Holidays weekends
