Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Specialist I to join our team at the State of Nebraska. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work in renovation and construction of building structures
  • Perform preventative maintenance work to ensure the longevity of our facilities
  • Construct, maintain and repair concrete and other foundation, walls, ceilings and floors
  • Perform work with snow removal equipment and operate heavy machinery
  • Perform skilled work on heating, cooling and building control systems
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade
  • Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
  • Valid Nebraska driver's license
