Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the manufacturing lines at all times, ensuring that quality standards are met and exceeded.
  • Assist other Quality Systems department personnel by covering other specific product lines when necessary, promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Monitor quality criteria for specific product lines, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Conduct outside supplier receiving and finished goods audits to verify that incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods meet quality criteria.
  • Participate in Cross-Functional Work Team meetings as needed with other personnel to discuss quality issues on assigned production lines.
  • Provide occasional training to production workers to help identify defective raw materials and finished goods.
  • Conduct work-in-process quality audits and document results.
  • Present quality charts and data at startup meetings.
  • Develop and make visual displays depicting good and bad parts, e.g. acceptable and unacceptable glass.
  • Observe conduct of tests at supplier, plant or field locations to evaluate reliability factors such as numbers and causes of unit failures.
  • Quarantine and oversee disposition of non-compliant material.
  • Conduct temper break test and lami pummel and bake tests on a regular basis.
  • Monitor accumulation of scrap material on an on-going basis.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple departments for a single outcome.
  • Familiarity with the use of standard measuring equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently with limited guidance from supervisor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
