Role Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating, organizing, and reviewing comprehensive project studies, reports, and design documentation related to water resources initiatives.
  • Providing field services and overseeing construction activities for various water resources projects, including but not limited to dams, levees, streams, and lakes.
  • Mentoring junior engineers to cultivate their skills in water resource modeling, design, planning, and project management.
  • Engaging in public presentations regarding civil engineering projects focused on water resources.

Key Projects:

The engineer will likely participate in projects involving:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Stormwater management planning
  • Stream restoration efforts
  • Designing flood mitigation strategies and enhancing water quality
  • Developing watershed-scale plans and studies

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a preference for candidates familiar with the Midwest region.
  • Possession of a South Dakota Professional Engineer's License or the ability to secure one within a specified timeframe.
  • Proven expertise in urban and rural hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Experience as a Project Manager, including developing scopes of work, budgeting, and scheduling for water resource projects.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with team members, clients, and the public.
  • A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel as needed.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for future sponsorship.
