We are seeking a skilled Breast Imaging Specialist.
*$6,000 sign-on bonus available for this role. Must be registered in Mammography upon hire. Rehires who have been away for over a year are also eligible.*
Hours: 24 flex 32hrs
Shift: Day Shift, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM & 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotation.
Location: Greater New Bedford Community Health Center.

Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Radiology Clinical Services or designated representative, you will perform a variety of clinical patient care, technical, and related duties within the fields of mammography and radiography as part of an interdisciplinary care team. You will be responsible for each assigned patient, conducting patient assessments, and correlating clinical findings with exam/procedure requests. You will obtain relevant information from the patient's chart and document all data within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Educating patients about their exams is essential. You will position patients and select the appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. You will identify, prepare, and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Selecting technical factors, parameters, and sequences to produce high-quality images is crucial. You will properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality while applying the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, yourself, and others, and remain aware of MR safety practices. Assisting physicians in performing procedures is also part of your role.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, with attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography RT(M).
- Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of Mammography is required for RTs within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.
- Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required based on location assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying your choice to be exempt from vaccination upon hire.
Pay Range:
USD $53.85 /Hr.
