Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our ICU team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to provide quality age-appropriate nursing care to patients, consistent with organizational philosophy, goals, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide quality age-appropriate nursing care to patients.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and report patient condition to the healthcare team, including vital signs, medication administration, and any changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Provide education to patients and families on disease management, medication administration, and other health-related topics.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Critical Care Certification and TCAR Certification eligible.
- At least 1 year of critical care experience in an acute care setting.
Working Conditions
This position requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The nurse will be exposed to dirt, odor, noise, and human waste. The nurse may exert up to 50 lbs. of force and will work in a fast-paced environment.
