Job Title: Senior Android Developer

Job Summary:

Fox News Media is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our team. As a key member of our mobile development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our native mobile apps for Android.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop features for our Fox News and Fox Business Android apps, including Android TV and Fire TV apps.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, test solutions, and solidify the development process.
  • Help architect and develop solutions for enterprise-level challenges such as caching media playback.
  • Help further the mobile development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment.
  • Work with developers on-and-offsite across different development environments such as web, CMS, and backend service teams.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field, plus two (2) years of Android development or related development experience on Android platform, including experience using Java and Kotlin.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field, plus five (5) years of Android development or related development experience on Android platform, including experience using Java and Kotlin.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience or knowledge in OTT development for Android TV or Fire TV.
  • Experience building components using MVVM (model-view-view model) pattern.
  • Knowledge of design patterns.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub and Jira.
  • Experience with RESTful JSON feed consumption.
  • Experience with push notification integration and deep linking.
  • Experience working with product owners in building features per business requirements.
