Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pulmonary care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in a critical, non-critical, and chronically ill setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency response and airway management, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
  • Deliver aerosolized drugs and manage ventilators, including setup and operation.
  • Perform oral hygiene, airway retaining device placement and maintenance, and airway support device management.
  • Monitor oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring, and analyze chest films, blood gases, and EKGs.
  • Accurately document patient information and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in CAP and JC surveys and may function as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
  • Perform advanced practice skills, including therapeutic gas management and monitoring, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, and polysomnography.
Requirements
  • RCP License in the state of employment required.
  • BLS required.
  • CRT through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • PALS certification required.
