Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to support our dynamic Department of Justice customer. As an Application Developer, you will design, develop, refactor, enhance, test, and evaluate software applications hosted on-premises to be hosted within the AWS GovCloud instance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Government's effort to obtain and maintain an authority-to-operate (ATO) and protect the security posture of the program systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with other team members and Government PM to analyze the existing system and design an appropriate solution.
  • Develop scalable, user-intuitive, high-quality, and high-performing web applications using multiple web application languages.
  • Enhance or modify applications to include business and process changes, as well as coordination with other integrated and non-customer software systems.
  • Work alongside infrastructure, development, and managerial team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Requirements
  • .Net Core 7/8, React, Azure Fundamentals
  • Agile
  • Linux - minimal with commands, enough to navigate on the boxes
  • Docker Containers
  • GitLab - both as their ticketing system but also understanding GitLab
  • CI/CD
  • Programming languages, such as Java and Python
  • Experience in developing SOAP and REST APIs in a client/server environment
  • Experience writing and evaluating regular expressions, experience developing, debugging, and/or refactoring code for popular programming languages
  • Experience with scripting command line tools to automate command tasks
  • Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM), knowledge of web-related technologies HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS, and experience with any major database
  • Experience in developing in cloud-native applications (AWS preferred)
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems or related field of study, or in lieu of education, three (3) additional years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
  • One (1) or more years of experience with application development leveraging a SQL and/or PostgreSQL database as data storage
  • One (1) or more years of experience with cloud (AWS preferred) application development and management
Security Clearance
  • Top Secret (Required)
