Job Summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Plasma Collection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our medical support team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors.

About the Role:

As a Plasma Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work closely with our Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure that our donors receive the highest level of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating reactions and following applicable SOPs.
  • Review laboratory test results and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
