Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Uncommon Schools Rochester Prep is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special needs to achieve academic success and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school leaders, and families to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide academic, emotional, and physical support to students, while maintaining high expectations and promoting self-guided learning.
  • Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum that emphasizes diversity and promotes social-emotional learning.
  • Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to cultivate community, model core values, and encourage student achievement.

  • Required Experience: A demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred).
