About the Job

UMPhysicians is seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Surgeon Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, conducting research, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Responsibilities
  • Participate as the attending staff in one or more of the intensive care units associated with the Division
  • Participate as a Surgeon or Intensivist at one of our partner facilities
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Full participation in departmental activities including but not limited to grand rounds, CEU quality meetings, Promotion and Tenure committee meetings, and faculty meetings
  • For qualified individuals, up to 20% FTE for research efforts may be available
Qualifications
  • MD degree or equivalent
  • Must have or be able to obtain board certification in Surgery and Critical Care
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Medical License in the state of Minnesota
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing quality and compassionate patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially with staff and partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research
