Job Title: Cook

At Valor Hospitality, we are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Delta Hotels Basking Ridge. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food for our guests and hotel clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards.
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to overproduce.
  • Work all stations on the kitchen line, including broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, and expediter stations.
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP, maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up.
  • Assist in keeping buffet stocked and return unused food items to designated storage areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
  • Six months to one year of experience in a food/beverage services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of operating industrial-sized ovens and cooking ranges.
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
