Job Title: Tableau Administrator/IT Specialist

Overview:

Softtek Government Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Tableau Administrator/IT Specialist to support our client, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). ASPR is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, administer, and optimize critical systems and tools to support ASPR's mission.
  • Tableau Server Administration and Optimization:
    • Manage Tableau Server on Windows Server, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Plan, design, and implement system upgrades, security patching, and routine maintenance for Tableau Server.
    • Monitor Tableau Server performance, analyzing server processes and services, and recommend changes for continuous improvement and optimization.
    • Manage and optimize data sources within Tableau, including data extracts and connections to various databases.
  • Security and User Management:
    • Implement and maintain security best practices for Tableau Server, including data encryption and secure access controls.
    • Manage user roles, permissions, and groups within Tableau, ensuring appropriate access and regular auditing.
    • Monitor user activities and server configurations to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Collaboration and IT Support:
    • Work closely with ODAIA, IT support teams, and other stakeholders to ensure Tableau Server aligns with organizational needs and IT strategies.
    • Collaborate with other IT specialists to integrate Tableau Server with existing systems and platforms.
    • Provide training and support to ODAIA staff and end-users on the effective use of Tableau for data visualization and analysis.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
    • Document all Tableau Server administration processes, including system architecture, configuration settings, and maintenance procedures.
    • Provide knowledge transfer sessions and ongoing support to IT staff and other stakeholders to ensure continuity in the management and optimization of Tableau Server.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain security clearance, including passing a public trust background check.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, data science, or related field.
  • Tableau Expertise:
    • Certification: Tableau Server Certified Associate or higher (preferred).
    • Experience: 5+ years in systems administration, with 3+ years focused on Tableau Server in a Windows Server environment.
