Overview:

US Facilities, Inc., a leading provider of facility management services, is looking for a dedicated Traffic Engineering Specialist to contribute to our projects in Central Virginia.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and assess traffic data to inform project decisions.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of work and timing plans, which includes traveling to various locations to collaborate with maintenance teams for equipment access.
  • Document site conditions meticulously and confirm work and timing plans based on field assessments.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by a supervisor or USF Senior Project Manager.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Essential skills include:

  • Understanding of traffic signal timing, control device design, and traffic engineering applications.
  • Proven experience in traffic engineering.
  • Familiarity with traffic signal optimization and simulation software, such as Synchro and VISSIM.
  • Competence in analyzing traffic data, data mining, and statistical analysis; proficiency in Python is advantageous.

Additional Skills:

Knowledge of operational principles related to signal timing, data collection, pavement markings, traffic signs, and guardrails is required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Proficiency in computer usage and software applications is necessary.


Work Environment:

This role includes a 90-day probation period and offers a flexible schedule, accommodating a 24/7 operational environment.

Compliance with VDOT/Industry training is mandatory, and work may occur in outdoor settings along interstate highways, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.

Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be necessary, with performance monitored through routine evaluations.

This position is classified as essential, meaning all responsibilities must be fulfilled during emergencies, including adverse weather conditions and disaster response.

A fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check is required for this role.
