Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

The Serenity Center, a leading OMH-Licensed Article 31 Mental Health Clinic, seeks an Independent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our new Serenity Gold Off-Site program. Our clinic has been approved to establish treatment sites at various Assisted Living facilities as extensions of our clinic.

Position Overview:
  • Provide psychiatric care to clients in assisted living facilities, both in-person and remotely.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat, and evaluate clients referred for psychiatric services, delivering a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.
  • Review medical history and related documents; order laboratory tests and evaluate results.
  • Provide continuing psychiatric care, medication management, and monitor the medical condition of clients, referring when necessary.
  • Prescribe and manage client medication profiles according to accepted psychiatric standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain psychiatric records/reports and complete required clinical documentation using our INSYNC EMR system.
  • Participate in our clinical team, conferring with the Clinical Director and psychotherapists regarding ongoing patient services.
  • Ensure quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, and rules.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Current New York State licensed Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience working with dually diagnosed substance abuse and psychiatric patients
  • Knowledge of polypharmacy, pharmacokinetics, and prescribing cascades
  • Ability to prioritize and be detail-oriented, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong medical understanding of the business of healthcare

Additional Information:
  • Work part-time or full-time, flexible schedules available
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
  • Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience
