Machinist Technician

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Carlisle Interconnect Technologies. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers.

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Verify conformance of finished work pieces to drawing specifications.
• Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
• Adhere to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.

• Vocational, high school diploma, or general education degree (GED).
• 3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to collect and analyze data at a level 2 and 3.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Carlisle IT Franklin is a clean facility housing different kinds of machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety-toed shoes, and hand protection in certain areas of the facility.

Clear ANSI safety-rated glasses are required for the job when in the manufacturing areas. Safety-toed shoes or boots (ASTM 2413-11 standard) are also required.
