Job Title: Student Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student Radiologic Technologist to join our x-ray team at Grady Health System.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the radiologic technologist, the student technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures with minimal supervision. They will care for patients by transporting them to procedures, answering questions, preparing and performing imaging procedures. The student technologist will also communicate with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize AIDET and complete 2 patient identifiers
  • Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest while ensuring and respecting the patient's physical abilities and comfort level
  • Properly track procedures utilizing Radiology information system (EPIC) and audit images on the PACs system (Sectra)
  • Obtain and document appropriate history from patient or representative and consult with the radiologist when necessary
  • Maintain the privacy and treat all patients and other customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect
  • Operate and train on all digital and computerized equipment, report any equipment malfunctions
  • Apply principles of ALARA safety and utilize collimation to minimize radiation exposure to patients, self, and others
  • Prioritize STAT, routine and trauma exams by responding appropriately to requested calls
  • Follow departmental radiation protection protocols and wear radiation badges at all times
  • Transport patients and prepares for radiographic imaging; providing the necessary instructions to obtain the radiographs, gain cooperation and reduce patient's anxiety
  • Complete additional tasks related to patient care in the X-ray department
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in an Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
  • Active CPR/BLS certification
  • 1 year of clinical completion
