The role of the Trade Compliance Specialist is crucial in ensuring adherence to federal regulations governing international trade. This position involves:

  • Evaluating business initiatives against regulatory standards and advising management on compliant practices.
  • Conducting training sessions for staff and aiding in the development and implementation of policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Designing and executing audits of internal controls and procedures to verify compliant transactions.
  • Assisting in external audits and responding to inquiries from U.S. government agencies, such as Customs and the Departments of State and Commerce, through data collection and corrective actions.
  • Influencing product development through technical jurisdictional analysis to align with business strategies while ensuring compliance.

Qualifications and Educational Background

  • Eligibility for obtaining a Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the job area typically gained through advanced education and relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Familiarity with U.S. import, export, and licensing regulations, including EAR and ITAR, is essential.
  • Experience with DECCS, SNAP-R, and ACE systems is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of an active Security Clearance.
  • Experience with FMS Trade Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Consent Agreements.
  • Familiarity with OCR EASE.
  • Understanding of Trade Tariffs and Commodity Classifications.
