About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Freelance Interpreter to join our team at Interpreters and Translators, Inc. as an independent contractor. As a Freelance Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating language communication on a variety of assignments, utilizing your bilingual/multilingual skills in different settings such as in-person or remote (over-the-phone and/or video) in various services industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site, AND/OR phone / video (remote) interpretation services to clients.
  • Adhere to HIPPA guidelines and Code of Professional Ethics & Conduct.
  • Manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills in both the source and target languages to convey messages accurately, clearly, and effectively.
Requirements
  • High school Diploma/GED
  • Interpreter Certification(s) – Preferred
  • Must pass a verbal exam (language assessment) to qualify
  • Communication: Ability to communicate across cultures in a variety of media.
  • Fluency: English + Secondary Language
  • Technological proficiency: Familiarity with digital communication avenues, including live chat, email and text.
  • Clarity: The ability to clearly relay ideas across cultures is integral to the role.
