Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
Job Summary:
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners. Your primary goal will be to provide high-quality images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Position patients to obtain studies as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
- Perform preparation to ensure the prompt commencement of procedures.
- Ensure all necessary equipment is available prior to starting examinations.
- Administer cleansing preps and contrast agents under the direction of a Radiologist.
- Protect patients and personnel by administering proper radiation protection techniques.
- Transfer and position patients for examinations to obtain desired radiographic results.
- Assist physicians in the performance of examinations.
- Maintain room and stock, secure and return supplies, and perform equipment maintenance recommendations and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for patient scheduling and smooth flow of schedule and patient preparation, including contrast administration.
- Responsible for quality control of CT examinations.
- Use the computer system according to standard operating procedures.
- Enter studies in RIS and HIS, track cases, split and fix studies in PACS as necessary, and perform related clerical tasks.
- Cooperate with all hospital personnel in a positive and professional manner, maintaining ethical relationships.
- Rotate shifts covering weekends and on-call, attend in-service training as required, and evaluate student performance.
Requirements:
- Three years of hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- State of New Jersey License and ARRT certification required.
- CT certification obtained within 12-24 months of hire.
- CPR certified or willing to obtain within six months of hire.
