Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard-I to join our team at the City of Rio Rancho, NM. As a Lifeguard-I, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers at our aquatic facilities, responding to emergency situations, and participating in swimming pool/facility safety and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform lifeguarding and instructional duties, warning swimmers of improper activities and hazards.
  • Respond to emergencies, rescuing persons in distress or in danger of drowning.
  • Follow and enforce rules and regulations, maintaining facility order and safety.
  • Assist in facility and pool safety and maintenance activities.
  • Provide swim instruction to swim lesson participants at all swim levels.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to swim at least 1500 yards and tread water for several minutes.
  • Must be able to complete the following American Red Cross / Jeff Ellis & Assoc. courses: Lifeguard, Learn to Swim Instructor, CPR, AED and First Aid.
