Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including baked goods, entrees, and desserts, following standardized recipes and food safety guidelines.
  • Portion and serve food in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, including mixers, slicers, kettles, and ovens, to prepare and cook food.
  • Work effectively with our culinary team to ensure that all food is prepared and served on time and to the highest standards.
  • Communicate effectively with our patients, residents, staff, and visitors to ensure that their dietary needs are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of applicable experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic math skills to accurately measure ingredients and portion food.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on location.
